FLIGHT LAB / LLOYDPILOT.COM
Read a flight test the way
an engineer does.
Real open-source software from NASA Ames, one authored synthetic dataset, and the Lear 24XR assembly view beside it. You scrub the data, compare what a model expected with what the sensors reported, pick an event and decide what the evidence supports. Nothing here is a real flight, and the software does not simulate anything: it shows you data and stays out of the way.
CONSOLE 01 · OPEN MCT 4.3.1
Inside a Flight Test
A climb, a level-off and one discrepancy to explain. The interactive console runs NASA’s Open MCT telemetry framework; this static chart is the same dataset drawn by the generator.

Prediction, observation, validation: the X-59’s 25th flight
What NASA’s “real-time digital twin” comparison means, as NASA describes it, and why acoustic validation is still ahead.

EXPLAINER · SUPERSONIC CHAPTER
Can you see the shock?
An original, clearly illustrative animation of shock waves forming and piling up, with a static version for reduced motion.

METHODS · CASE STUDY
From a classic Learjet to an open flight lab
What was actually built, which NASA code is used (and which is not), the dataset schema, the adapter API and how to reproduce it.

AIRCRAFT ATLAS
Lloyd’s Lear 24XR
The assembly view the console talks to: an original training model of a Learjet 24 exterior with schematic systems, pulled apart assembly by assembly.

Real software
The console runs NASA Ames’ Open MCT (version 4.3.1, Apache-2.0), unmodified and loaded only when you open the console. It is visualisation software: it draws telemetry, it does not generate or simulate it.
Authored data
One synthetic dataset, generated by seeded code with explicit units, timestamps, a schema version, a scenario id and a provenance block. It is labelled “Synthetic educational data” beside every chart because that is exactly what it is.
